As the human body is made up of approximately 70%+ water, when one rubs a singing bowl on the body, the bowls' healing vibrations can penetrate the layers of fascia to move our cells and improve circulation, helping to speed up the healing process, oxygenate our blood, and creating a shift in our nervous system. Singing bowls can be especially beneficial for those who suffer from chronic pain, trauma, anxiety, high blood pressure, stress, depression, Parkinson’s, ADHD, arthritis, fibromialga, insomnia, etc.. On an energetic subtle body level the sound vibrations open, clear, and balance their chakras and release stuck energy. This is because each of these energy centers has a “unique vibrational frequency”. These frequencies can interact with the vibration frequencies that are created when playing a singing bowl. The experience has been described as "energetic deep tissue massage”.

ABOUT SOUND THERAPY

Our sound therapist uses Tibetan singing bowls to harmonize body and mind

The Benefits of Sound Healing

The sounds are used in the same way as breath in meditation: to influence shifts in our brainwaves from beta waves down to alpha, theta, and even delta waves. The overtones of the singing bowls produce “binaural beats” and frequencies, encourage brain “entrainment”, stimulating brain waves through pulsing sound or light waves that help you feel relaxed. Studies have shown that singing bowl sound meditation can produce physiological and psychological responses, reducing negative affect and increasing positive affect, improving blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate and activating the parasympathetic nervous system. The vibrations of the bowls, when used near or on a client's body, sometimes referred to as “vibroacoustic massage”, penetrates deep into the muscles and tissues , releasing tension and leaving the client with a sense of lightness and ease in their body.

"Sound enters the healing equation from several directions: It may alter cellular functions through energetic effects; it may entrain biological systems to function more homeostatically; it may calm the mind and therefore the body; or it may have emotional effects, which influence neurotransmitters and neuropeptides, which in turn help to regulate the immune system--the healer within."

My Method

I am a certified practitioner of Atma Buti Sound & Vibrational School out of Boulder Colorado and study under master teacher Suren Shrestha. Suren brought these ancient protocols and treatments from his home country of Nepal, and has been teaching for over 25 years. Atma Buti is the only sound and vibrational program certified in the US; to become a practitioner I went through a 200 hour hands on program, and then continued to assist in classes and take advanced level training.

What is unique about Atma Buti’s method is that it is passed down orally through hands-on training and experience, and most importantly focuses on the spiritual intention of bringing the subtle body back into vibrational wellness. In sound therapy, and specific to Atma Buti methods and protocols, the frequency and vibration work together to bring our body back into harmony.

Our certified Atma Buti practitioner uses Nepalese singing bowls to create deep relaxation and healing.
Experience the synergy of craniosacral therapy and sound healing. Our integrated holistic bodywork sessions use sound therapy to enhance relaxation and wellness

In addition to the deep vibrational massage from the bowls on the body, I incorporate massage and craniosacral therapy into the session. Craniosacral addresses a rhythmic system at the core of our physiology – the pulse of energy that flows between our head and pelvic area. Through gentle manipulation of the skull bones, spine, pelvis, and cranial nerves (especially the vagus nerve), the body shift out of a fight or flight state, and the flow of cerebrospinal fluid in the central nervous system can begin to normalize bringing the body back to a harmonize state, and allowing our bodies to heal.

The bowls I use are handmade Himalayan singing bowls. These particular bowls are hand hammered by local Nepalese Shakya clans, and with each strike they chant their spiritual mantra, using the same method that goes back to the time of Buddha. The bowls are made of seven sacred metals aligned with the seven chakras of our body, and when played can harmonize the chakras while stimulating our life force energy, among many other benefits.

KIND WORDS

“I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the work that Kat does with sound therapy for HyVibz Wellness. I have had other sound bath experiences in the past, but Kat custom tailors the vibrations to correspond to your particular needs and elevates the experience to a new level. I was so mesmerized by the experience in each session that I was transported to a higher plane, losing any connection to time and place. I totally recommend this therapy for physical, mental and spiritual relaxation and treatment, you will not regret it.”
